Birmingham swoop for Clemence

Birmingham City have agreed an undisclosed fee for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Stephen Clemence on a busy day of transfer activity for the struggling Premiership club. They earlier agreed a a £1.5million fee with Ipswich for defender Jamie Clapham and have now added Clemence, son of former England goalkeeper Ray, to their squad.

Clemence, who will join the Blues subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms, has just returned to full fitness after successfully recovering from a long-term injury, and has made just one appearance this season for Spurs.
