Dugarry joins Blues for rest of season

Birmingham have this afternoon completed the signing of French World Cup-winning striker Christophe Dugarry from Bordeaux. The 30-year-old has joined the club until the end of the season and becomes manager Steve Bruce's second signing during the January transfer window, with defender Ferdinand Coly now eligible to play after signing from French clubLens.

Dugarry has won 55 caps for France, scoring eight times, though he had not scored for Bordeaux this season in 16 appearances. Bruce will be pinning his hopes on Dugarry to add guile to his attack - Blues have managed just 19 goals in 22 Barclaycard Premiership matches so far.
