Ballyhaunis and Four Roads progress in Connacht

Ballyhaunis of Mayo and Roscommon's Four Roads have advanced in the AIB Connacht Club Hurling Championship after first round victories this afternoon. The Mayo champions scored a narrow 2-09 to 1-11 win over St Mary's of Leitrim, while Four Roads overcame Tubbercurry of Sligo 2-16 to 1-11.

Meanwhile, in the Leinster Hurling Championship first round replay, Castletown of Laois beat Carnew Emmets of Wicklow 2-13 to 1-09, and now play Birr next weekend.
