ICC investigating Trophy match - report

Former England captain Tony Greig has claimed the ICC's anti-corruption unit requested tapes of Pakistan's Champions Trophy defeat to Sri Lanka amid fears of match-fixing. Pakistan were bowled out for 200 and comprehensively beaten by eight wickets as Sanath Jayasuriya struck an unbeaten 102.

The Times of India newspaper quotes 'well-placed sources' who claim the run out of Yousuf Youhana for a duck alerted the suspicions of the ACU, which in turn requested tapes of the game for further investigation. Cricket's world governing body would not confirm the reports and spokesman Mark Harrison told PA Sport: "We do not comment on specific matches. Any investigative work in confidential."

However, Greig, who is working as a commentator for the tournament in Sri Lanka, insisted the ICC had requested tapes of the game. "I don't know why the ICC is denying this," he told the Times of India.

Immediately prior to the start of the tournament ICC president Malcolm Gray warned everyone in the game to be vigilant over the threat of match-fixing. He said last week: "It can be said that we have eradicated that problem from the game but that does not mean we can afford to stop being vigilant."
