Villa sign new keeper

Aston Villa have signed De Graafschap goalkeeper Stefan Postma on a four-year contract, according to the player and his Dutch club. Postma, 26, was in Birmingham today with his agent Piet Buter and De Graafschap president Jacco Swart to complete the deal.

Postma told the Dutch club's official website, www.mijngraafschap.nl: "I've no idea what is happening at the moment, so shortly after signing the contract. It's all gone so fast over the last few weeks. I knew of Villa's interest of course, but this went so smoothly and fastly. I have had a medical and the signature was put to paper swiftly."

"You can see that everyone breathes football here. The club logo and that typical British atmosphere. I am really looking forward to beginning," De Graafschap. Postma started his career with hometown club Utrecht before moving to Doetinchem. He played 67 matches for De Graafschap side and recently played his 100th professional game.
