Schumacher takes Malaysian pole

Ferrari's Michael Schumacher has taken pole position for tomorrow's grand prix in Malaysia. The German edged out Juan Pablo Montoya in a Williams BMW by 0.23 seconds. Fellow Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello will start in third.

Schumacher's pole is his fourth successive top spot on the Sepang track in Kuala Lumpur. The world champion will be favourite to consolidate his early lead in the championship by completing a hat-trick of victories on the Malaysian track.

Brother Ralf will start in fourth place on the grid, with McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen and David Coulthard in fifth and sixth on the grid respectively.
