Ice Hockey: Bales nets January prize

Belfast Giants netminder Mike Bales has been named as the Sekonda 'Face to Watch' for January. The former National Hockey League player posted a stunning 1.00 goals-against average and a saves percentage of 96.8% in the month which saw Belfast clinch the Superleague title in only the club's second season.

"It feels great to be given an award like this. There are so many guys on this team it could have gone to, as well as players throughout the league, so to be singled out is really nice," Bales said.
