Gronholm wins Rally of Sweden

Marcus Gronholm won the Rally of Sweden after the third and final day on Sunday as he beat home fellow Finn and Peugeot team-mate Harri Rovanpera and Ford driver Carlos Sainz of Spain.

Former world champion Gronholm's skill in negotiating the snowy, icy conditions showed why no driver from outside Scandinavia has ever won the event in its 51-year history. His victory in this second race of the season means he takes the lead in the world championship standings.
