Houllier will return - Parry

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has insisted that Gerard Houllier will return to his role as manager of Liverpool.

Leeds United manager David O'Leary, a close friend of Houllier's, today admitted that he would prefer the Frenchman not to return to football and others have questioned whether the Anfield boss will return.

Houllier visited his specialists at Broadgreen cardiotherapy unit in Liverpool this week, and was advised to have at least another month off. It means his return is now not likely until mid-March, giving rise to suggestions all is not as well as Liverpool have been claiming.

However, Parry told BBC Radio Five Live's 'Sportsweek' that "there's one thing of which there is no doubt, he will be back". And after today's 4-0 victory at Leeds, assistant manager Phil Thompson re-iterated Parry's claim. "He has had tests and the guy is perfect and he will be back in the hotseat - I can guarantee that," he said.
