Icehockey: Belfast Giants cut down to size
Sunday, 28 October 2001 09:28Sekonda Superleague leaders Belfast Giants tonight saw their Nottingham Panthers jinx continue with a 3-2 defeat at the National Ice Centre. Panthers, who beat Belfast for the third time this season, have also now won five of the last six meetings on home ice against the Northern Ireland club.
Former Panther Jeff Hoad gave Belfast the lead but Lee Jinman (powerplay), P C Drouin and Joel Poierier earned Nottingham their first win in three games, before Kevin Riehl grabbed a late consolation for the Irish side.
