Ice Hockey: Giants stretch lead with win in Manchester

Belfast Giants stretched their lead at the top of the Sekonda Superleague table to four points with a 4-1 victory at Manchester Storm on Sunday night. The early season pacesetters claimed their third straight win after racing into a 4-0 lead despite playing their fourth game in six days.

Colin Ward, captain Geff Hoad, Rod Stevens and Dave Matsos found the net to seal an impressive victory before Joe Cardarelli grabbed a late consolation for the Storm, whose three-match unbeaten home run came to an end.

Second-placed Ayr Scottish Eagles slumped to their second heavy away defeat in four days with a 6-3 defeat at Bracknell Bees. Belfast had beaten them 7-2 on Thursday's 7-2.
