Leicester to talk to Redknapp

Leicester chairman John Elsom today admitted that the club could be speaking to former West Ham boss Harry Redknapp about the Foxes manager's job. Redknapp is in the frame after Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric agreed he was free to leave his director of football post at Fratton Park.

Elsom, hoping to find a replacement for sacked Peter Taylor before the club's next Premiership match on October 13, told Radio 5 Live: "If Harry is one of the people interested then I am sure we will be speaking to him. I think there will be a period of quiet while we talk and see a few people but we hope to make an announcement fairly soon. "

Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has agreed that Redknapp is free to leave his job at the club. "I spent a lot of energy to bring him here and I want to keep him here," said Mandaric. "If I believe he wants it (the Leicester job) and wants to leave I will have to sit down and listen to Harry."

Another hotly-tipped candidate is former Arsenal, Leeds and Tottenham boss George Graham, who is currently out of management. His agent Steve Kutner confirmed the Scot's interest in the vacant position at Filbert Street, saying: "George is interested in any club that has ambitions as high as his."
