Opportunity knocks for Keohane

Michael Keohane is set for one of the biggest races of his career this weekend, when he drives in the Scholarship class of the Formula 3 support race at the British Grand Prix. The young West Cork driver's confidence received a boost after he set the fastest time in official testing for the race, and he is looking forward to Sunday's race. "This is the most important race for me yet, as all the Formula One teams look at F3 for up and coming talent. A good result this weekend could open a lot of doors for me," said Keohane, who drives for Irish team Meritus Racing.

Keohane, who currently lies in third place in the British F3 Scholarship, has experience of racing in front of a large crowd at Silverstone. The former Irish Kart Champion raced in a wet Euroseries support race in Formula Opel back in 1998, and this should help to calm his nerves, despite the importance of Sunday's race.
