Finnish winger on trial at Celtic

Celtic have taken PSV Eindhoven winger Joonas Kolkka on trial. The Finnish international joined the Hoops at their training camp at Bisham Abbey in an attempt to impress manager Martin O'Neill. Kolkka, who has been capped 34 times for his country, has been compared to Barcelona's Marc Overmars. The 26-year-old left winger, who was Rangers boss Dick Advocaat's last signing at PSV, is rated at more than £1m. O'Neill said: "Joonas is down to train with us over the next three or four days and then we will see how it goes."

Greek side Panathinaikos have also declared an interest in Kolkka, who has been told he is no longer a certain starter at PSV. Kolkka's agent Kees Ploegsma is confident that O'Neill will be impressed. "There are a number of clubs interested in him on the continent because he is a good player. He is fast, scores goals, is left and right footed so he can play on both wings and would cause defences all kinds of problems. I think he'll be a big success in Scotland because he's an international with a good pedigree - and is definitely not an average player."
