Mamola takes bike-mad Batty for spin

Leeds United midfielder David Batty could be in trouble with manager David O'Leary after riding as a pillion passenger before today's British Grand Prix at Donington Park. Although his contract bans him from riding motorcycles on the road, bike-mad Batty was taken around the circuit in front of 30,000 fans on a specially-built 500cc Marlboro Yamaha GP bike by former racer Randy Mamola.

"I don't think they would have wanted us to do it, I'm not allowed to do any riding on the road. I've always been into bikes but football means I don't get to ride like I'd like to. Randy was great, you can tell he's a really special rider," said Batty. American Mamola finished runner-up four times in the 500cc world championship.
