Jones praises Lions comeback

Australia A coach Eddie Jones said the Lions deserved credit for the way they fought back during Australia A's 28-25 win over the Lions on Tuesday. Jones believes that the result would have little bearing on the three-test series starting in 11 days.

"I don't think it gives a psychological advantage one way or the other," Jones said. "It'll probably help them (the Lions) because it'll give them the kick they need to work harder ... and for the Australians, it just shows they're beatable.

"Tonight showed where Australia can put pressure on them," Jones said. "The Lions struggled in the tackle and in the lineout and it was probably the first time they competed against a side which could contest in those areas. But it shouldn't be seen as a great disappointment for the Lions."

"On any tour there's always an adjustment period and that was the first time they've come up against a team who challenged them. I'm sure they're going to learn from the experience tonight and they'll bounce back from it. They showed at the end of the game that they're a quality side," Jones added.
