The Curragh reports perfect conditions
Monday, 21 May 2001 19:13Officials at the Curragh today described the track as perfect in the straight ahead of the Entenmann's Guineas meeting at the weekend. Racecourse manager Jason Morris confirmed: "At the moment the ground would be perfect in the straight. We will be monitoring the situation each day and we'll walk the course tomorrow with the possibility of some parts of the round course being watered. The going is currently described as good, good to firm in places on the round course."
A spokesman for Richard Hannon's yard confirmed that Richard Hughes would ride Tamburlaine in the Entenmann's Irish 2000 Guineas on Saturday. Hughes partnered the colt when he finished a one-and-a-quarter-length second to Golan in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month. (PA)
