Moscow to join Formula One tour

It is believed Moscow will be unveiled as Formula 1's newest grand prix venue sometime tomorrow. Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone is in Moscow for the announcement. This news comes just weeks after the Russians approved the proposed £66m development which will see the construction of a circuit on the city's Nagatino Island.

Moscow will be the first new grand prix venue to be added to the Formula 1 calendar since the introduction of Malaysia two years ago. It is not certain whether or not a current venue will make way for Moscow's introduction or whether the number of races will be extended. Moscow will begin holding races from the 2003 season. (PA)
