Ebdon and Lee level in dour stalemate

Peter Ebdon and Stephen Lee are level at 4-4 following the first session of their second round match in the Embassy World Championships. Lee quickly set out his stall with a 121 break in the first frame. This has been the highlight so far in a match which has failed to live up to expectations. Fifth seed Lee also won the second frame with a strong 66.

Ebdon battled back to win the next two frames, levelling the score. Lee won the next frame to make it 3-2, before twelfth seed Ebdon predictably clawed back to tie the score. Ebdon won the seventh frame in 25-minutes but Lee replied with a comfortable eighth frame win. The match resumes this evening at 7pm.
