Durant wins Genuity Championship

Joe Durant has won his second US PGA Tour title in 14 days with a final round of 65 at the Genuity Championship in Miami. Durant was four strokes off the pace when the final round got underway today but he finished two ahead of the overnight leader Mike Weir of Canada.

Because thunderstorms were forecast for the afternoon, it had been decided that the final round would tee off at 7:30am local time. Durant began with an eagle on the first and by the end of the day he had accumulated an aggregate of 270 to leave him at 18 under par.

Durant won a fortnight ago at the 90-hole Bob Hope Classic, setting a PGA record in such an event.
