Athletics: Szabo sets new record

Olympic and world 5000m champion Gabriela Szabo set a new world record in the 3000m indoor event in Birmingham today. The 29-year-old, who pipped Sonia O'Sullivan for gold in Sydney, clocked 8:32.88 to take almost a second off the record of 8:33.82 set by Holland's Elly Van Hulst twelve years ago.
