Olympics: Athletes want Burrows
Monday, 12 February 2001 18:11The Athletes Commission, which is comprised of Irish participants from the past three Winter and Summer Olympic games today unanimously endorsed Richard Burrows for the position of President of the Olympic Council of Ireland. While the athletes do not have a vote at this election they say they hope that the National Governing Bodies would take their views on board.
The vote between Burrows and current president Pat Hickey takes place on Thursday.
