Snooker: Hunter surprises Hendry
Saturday, 10 February 2001 17:14Paul Hunter has caused a major upset in the first Benson & Hedges Masters semi-final today with a 6-4 victory over Stephen Hendry. The Englishman overcame the six-times world champion with the help of a century in the fourth frame to make it 2-2. It was a close tie with the players remaining level as the frames were divided equally until Hunter enjoyed back-to-back breaks of 60 and 65 to put him in the driving seat and victory was his thanks to a fluked green in the final frame.
Later tonight, Ireland's Fergal O'Brien will take on Dave Harold for a place in the final against Paul Hunter tomorrow.
