Soccer: Flo deal imminent

Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo flew into Glasgow Airport this afternoon to discuss his £12million move to Rangers. There has been ongoing speculation about the Norwegian international's proposed switch to Ibrox. But it appears the deal could finally go through, and Flo could become a Rangers player by late this afternoon.

Despite the rumours, Rangers chairman David Murray maintained the record-breaking deal was never dead - and it looks as though he will get his man. The 27-year-old forward handed in an official transfer request late last night.

The deal will shatter the Scottish transfer record, and there is now every chance Flo will be signed in time to go straight into Sunday's explosive Old Firm derby.

Rangers, having already agreed a deal with Chelsea, moved swiftly to fly the player to Glasgow where he was met by club press officer John Greig and then taken to a top hospital to undergo medical examination. Flo was then to be driven to Ibrox where to discuss the deal set to make him the most expensive player in Scottish history, eclipsing the £6million Celtic paid last summer for his former Chelsea team-mate Chris Sutton.
