Rugby: All Blacks opt for experience

All Black selectors have opted for the experienced front row of Kees Meeuws, Anton Oliver and Carl Hoeft for the opening game of the Tri-Nations series against Australia on Saturday.

Flyhalf Andrew Mehrtens gets the nod over Tony Brown and openside flanker Scott Robertson starts ahead of Josh Kronfeld. Todd Blackadder who links up with Norm Maxwell in the second-row will captain the side. Meanwhile Australia have made just one change to their starting team, centre Jason Little replacing Rod Kafer.
