Rugby: New Zealand thump Tonga 102-0

Scotland's tourists were handed a warning as New Zealand scored 15 tries, including a hat-trick by Test debutant Troy Flavell, to run up a record-breaking 102-0 win over Tonga in Auckland today. It was the first match under new captain Todd Blackadder and coach Wayne Smith and the thrashing represented the All Blacks' biggest points haul on home turf, comfortably exceeding the 93 scored against Argentina in 1997.

Tonga may not rank among the top rugby nations but it was still a scintillating display that will have struck fear into the hearts of Scotland's players as they prepare to face the All Blacks next weekend in Dunedin.
