Rugby: Ireland A win Triple Crown

Ireland A have narrowly won the Triple Crown with a victory over Wales. They scored 2 tries and 6 penalty goals to four tries to finally prevail over a spirited Welsh side by the narrow margin of 28 points to 26. Out-half Emmett Farrell performance was a pparticular highlight. The young out-half was in sparkling form, contributing twenty points to Ireland's total score.

Wales earlier suffered the blow of a further eligiblity crisis, Cardiff wing Nick Walent was left out of the team, and awaits an IRB ruling on his three year residency, before he will be permitting to rejoin the team. Pontypridd's Gareth Wyatt has stepped in to replace him.

The Irish Under 21's defeated their Welsh counterparts 35-17 at Thomond Park, while the Welsh Universities beat the Irish Universities by 31 points to 27 at Ravenhill.
