Freestanding Fabric Bird

HOW TO

Materials needed:

Three different coloured pieces of felt or material
Buttons
Wooden stick
Pipe cleaners
Cotton Wool
Glue

Freestanding Fabric Bird

Steps:

Break the bird down into three basic shapes – body, wings and beak.

Cut shapes from felt/fabric for each of these. Cut two of each.
Stick the 2 body shapes together leaving a gap for the stuffing.
Stuff the inside with cotton wool.
Close up gap by gluing.

Freestanding Bird

Add on wings and beak.
Add large buttons for eyes.

Freestanding Fabric Bird

Use wire/pipe cleaners for legs – make into ‘springs’ by twisting around a pencil.
Stick onto either side of bird to make it stand.
