Famous City Landmark Batik

HOW TO

Materials:
Cotton wool
Paper
Bottle of glue
Acrylic paint
Black card
White cotton material

Steps:
1) Draw out a very simple image of the Eiffel Tower. (break the drawing down into 5 simple stages).
2) Place the drawing underneath a piece of cotton, so you can see it underneath.
3) Using a squeezy bottle of glue, draw around the lines of the Eiffel Tower.

4) When it’s dry, paint a pattern of different colours over the entire piece of muslin with watered down acrylic paint.
5) When it is dry, wash the piece of material in hot soapy water to remove all of the glue.

6) The paint will have resisted the areas where the glue was, leaving behind the drawing of the famous landmark.
7) Stick the fabric to a sheet of black card.
8) Using strips of card make a frame around the fabric on the black card.
