Tá bailiúchán nua ceoil curtha i dtoll a chéile ag Cian Ó Cíobháin, ATT Volume 6, rogha den cheol is fearr a bhí le cloisteáil ar An Taobh Tuathail le bliain anuas agus tá sé ar fáil anois.

19 rian atá le cloisteáil ar ATT Volume 6, le meascán stíleanna idir acústach, leictreonach agus ceol nuachlasaiceach.  Orthu siúd atá le cloisteáil ar an mbailiúchán tá trí léiritheoir a shamhlaítear go minic le ceol techno, Perc, Shed agus Laurel Halo, ach saothar níos macánta le cloisteáil uathu anseo.  Ceol comhaimseartha ar fad atá sa bhailiúchán, seachas píosa amháin ó 1998 ó ghrúpa Carol Keogh, Plague Monkeys.  Ar na hÉireannaigh eile atá le cloisteáil tá píosa le Cubs ón lipéad Rusted Rail i nGaillimh, agus an píosa ceoil goodbyeworldhellouniverse leis an gceoltóir Eileen Coyle as Co. an Chabháin.   Tá an cumadóir cáiliúil ón Íoslainn, Jóhann Jóhannsson, san áireamh freisin sa bhailiúchán.

Tá sé 14 bliain ó thosaigh Cian ag cur An Taobh Tuathail i láthair, agus tá sé fós ag baint an oiread céanna sásaimh as agus a bhí riamh.

Tá éisteoirí dílse ag An Taobh Tuathail i ngach cúinne den domhan, agus is iomaí ceoltóir atá buíoch do Chian Ó Cíobháin as ardán a thabhairt dóibh ar a chlár.

An Taobh Tuathail Luan go hAoine 21:00 – 23:00.

Cian Ó Cíobháin has released a new compilation of music from his underground music show An Taobh Tuathail, ATT Volume 6.  It is now available to download.

ATT Volume 6 features 19 tracks in a mixture of styles including acoustic, electronic and neo-classical, Cian’s choice of music from the past year on the show.  There are 3 producers you would normally associate with techno included in the collection – Perc, Shed and Laurel Halo – which features only contemporary music, except for one gem from 1998 by Carol Keogh’s Plague Monkeys.  Other Irish contributions include a track by Cubs from Galway’s Rusted Rail label, and goodbyeworldhellouniverse by Eileen Coyle from Cavan, who, among other things, is a member of the 1940s close harmony group The Bugle Babes.  The collection’s penultimate track is by gifted Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson.

Cian Ó Cíobháin, variously described as a ‘missionary’ and ‘the Irish John Peel’, has been producing and presenting An Taobh Tuathail on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta for 14 years and still enjoys it immensely.

An Taobh Tuathail (The Other Side) - or ATT as its affectionately known – is a long-running, flagship, alternative music show.  It is renowned for breaking new acts and has given many artists, from home and abroad, their first airplay.
