World Rhythms

WORLD RHYTHMS, presented by Rachel Blech, will be steering listeners on a course through some exotic musical destinations.  Be warned though - you might need to dig out a pair of flip-flops and a sarong one minute and then wrap up in your thermal underwear the next! In an eclectic mix of music from near and far, the music will include traditional, folk, fusion and popular music from the global juke-box that is Planet Earth.

Rachel moved to Ireland from London in 1997 where she'd been working in theatre and festival management. In 2000 she became involved in Inishowen Community Radio in Donegal and since then has presented a weekly world music show called The World Cruise.  Soon after, she was asked to present pop and
chart music for the Q Radio Network in Northern Ireland and in 2003 was invited by  RTÉ Radio 1 to present a week of The Blue Room . Since that time Rachel has been a regular stand-in presenter for RTÉ Radio on both Radio 1 (The Mystery Train) and lyric FM (The Blue of the Night). She also presents The Late Show occasionally for BBC Radio Ulster.
