A CAP deal moved closer this week following a two day informal meeting in Dublin. EU Agriculture Commissioner Ciolos said that considerable progress was made in the negotiations and that he is “more” optimistic that we will have a political agreement by the end of June. But not all farmers like what they’re hearing on the grapevine so far and thousands of them took to the streets of Dublin to vent their frustration. So even if a deal is reached it looks like Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney will have a hard job on his hands to sell it to all Irish farmers. Minister Coveney was with Pat this morning.
