Operation Transformation

The show is radio home to Operation Transformation 2012 sponsored by Safefood. Every Monday from the Red Rua Arts Centre in Tallaght we will be chatting to leaders Kayleigh, Natatlie, Grace, Killian and Adrian at their weekly weigh-ins. And during the week we will also keep up to date with other Operation Transformation stories including the Count Me In campaign to put calories on restaurant menu boards; the bid to reduce Type II Diabetes in Ireland; and Niall Moyna’s Fitness Challenge. The John Murray Show is the radio home of the fourth series of Operation Transformation. Over the coming weeks we will be following closely the progress of Jayne, Emily, Rachel, Sinead and Ronan – who have been selected to lead the nation to become fitter and healthier.

Each Monday, we will broadcast a ‘weigh-in’ live on air. We will be checking in to find out how well the leaders have gotten on – whether they have hit or missed their weekly targets.

We will also be speaking to health professional about the national campaign to encourage more transparent labelling of the calorie content of food. As the weeks progress, we hope that more and more cafes, take-away outlets, shops and restaurants will join the campaign to tell consumers how many calories are actually in those tasty muffins, buns and pastries!!

We will keep in touch with the family and groups who have been brave enough to publicly join the battle to lose weight.

And John Murray will have his runners at the ready when those 5K OT public walks take place.
