The feminist agenda of the '60s, '70s, and '80s was part of the changing shape of contemporary Ireland. By the '90s it appeared that feminism might have run out of steam. Now many younger women,  who reaped thee benefits of its successes, think that being a feminist is almost old-fashioned.

In this series Melanie Verwoerd looks back at the feminist agenda of the 20th century through archival clips and the experience of many who were at the forefront of its campaigns and considers its relevance at the beginning of the 21st century. The programmes will look at work, the Church, health and sexuality, politics and the lives of young people.
