Radio 1 88-90fm

The Business takes an entertaining, offbeat and informative look at the world of business and finance. It gets under the skin of big business stories in a punchy and jargon-free way. As well as exploring the major issues and players of the day in the world of commerce, it also brings you the best from small and medium Irish companies around the country.
Landlords Leading The Way
Last week we launched our "Landlords Leading The Way" initiative where we called for landlords and property owners to give up their vacant spaces to start-up companies for free. We've had a great response. The list of available properties can be found here. If you have a vacant property, and if you want to give a start-up business a helping hand, please get in touch.

The Deals At Davos
Over 2,600 influential figures in business, economics and politics have been congregating all week at the World Economic Forum in Davos. But what really goes on behind the scenes there? Economist David McWilliams joins us in studio to fill us in on his Davos experiences.
The Dairy Disciples
Fourteen young farmers from around the country have been chosen as potential leaders of Ireland's dairy co-operatives. We're joined in studio by one of those farmers, Dara Kavanagh from Co. Wicklow, and by Tom O'Callaghan from the Irish Co-Operative Organisation Society to tell us more.
Easy Money
With the recession ongoing, it can be very difficult for people to find ways of making ends meet, so we asked Aoife Barry to fill us in on some alternative ways of making a quick buck. She's joined by Graeme Singleton, a man who has a knack for making easy money, and Ray Cuddihy who tells us about making cash from a haircut. You can find out more about Aoife's tips here.
Business Review
It's been another hectic week on the business news front. We're joined by Laura Noonan from the Irish Independent, and barrister Andrew Robinson of New Beginnings, to look back at some of the stories that made the headlines this week.
Namarama
Treasury Holdings were in the courts this week in an attempt to stop the National Assets Management Agency from taking control of their property developments. It's getting harder to keep track of what NAMA now owns on our behalf, as the list gets longer by the day. Yesterday we caught up with Conor McGarrigle, who created NAMALand, a mobile phone app that keeps track of NAMA properties in Dublin. He's hoping to take the project nationwide.
Magic Men
News emerged this week that the famous magician, Paul Daniels, chopped his finger off while preparing a magic trick for the stage. So we decided to peek behind the curtain of the magician's world and find out if the conjuror's career is as dangerous as it appears. Magicians Pat Fallon and Jack Wise reveal all.
