    The Rolling Wave

Traditional and folk music in Ireland, presented by Peter Browne

We mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the great Kerry Sliabh Luachra fiddle-player Pádraig O’Keeffe with examples of his music and excerpts from a radio documentary series on his life. Also accordion music from Alan Kelly and two songs from Muireann Nic Amhlaiomh. Also a new RW competition for copies of the new RTÉ DVD Come West Along the Road Volume 4.

    About The Show

Named after a famous traditional Irish tune, The Rolling Wave is a sharp ear and a close eye on the world of traditional and folk music in Ireland.

Sunday, 10.00pm on RTÉ Radio 1

Also, congratulations to: Mícheál Ó Dubháin of Longford and Bernadette Wynne of Dún Laoghaire, both of whom win copies of the RTÉ DVD “Come West Along the Road – Volume IV”.

Our April competition is for 2 copies of the new CD by Emer Mayock, Mick O’Brien and Aoife Ní Bhriain “Tunes from the Goodman Manuscripts”. The question is: Who wrote the song “Dirty Old Town”?
