    Is time running out for printing presses?

    Brenda Power in the first of this season's The Media Show series is looking at how printed newspapers are being replaced by online news and we find out why Irish newspapers may soon move to a paywall on their online editions.

    Interviews include Matt Dempsey Chairman of the National Newspapers of Ireland, Aileen O’ Toole founder of the Sunday Business Post and Emily Bell of Columbia University.

    We find out how the New York Times is facing up to the digital challenge.

    The eight-part series will see Power and the show team following key decision-makers in media both in Ireland and across the world, looking at the people behind our media and finding out how it works.

    In the series Power will be joined by Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources Pat Rabbitte and that show will explore the regulation of social media; how the new public broadcasting charge will work; media futures and how the New York Times is dealing with the digital challenge.
