    Mornings with Dave Fanning Search for Ireland’s Most Musical Family

    Brothers, sisters, cousins, in-laws, step fathers, grannies – the show is looking for families that play together to enter the competition. Non family members are permitted – as long as family is at the heart of it – as with The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and The Fureys and Davey Arthur.

    Send us a 4’00 maximum clip performing the song or music of your choice – it does not need to be an original piece of music.

    Upload it to Youtube and email us the link to davefanning@rte.ie.

    You also need to send us a 100 word supporting paragraph telling us your story and why you should be chosen.

    The closing date for entries is 5pm on Wednesday  26th August.

    Our final will be held the first week in September and finalists need to be available then to perform before our judges.

    The judges’ decision is final.

    Buck Brannaman - Horse Whisperer

    Horse Whisperer, Dan Buck Brannaman spoke to John this morning about the art of talking to animals. His life has been captured on film where he was played by Robert Redford, Buck is in Dublin for the Dublin International Horse Show at the RDS.

    We're constantly told to Mind The Gap, but fate befellone Aussie commuter who slipped as he got onto a train in Perth this morning. Passengers of the train helped the man get free.

    Fad Diets - Elsa Jones

    A new fad craze called ‘Clay cleanses’ hit the headlines as the new magic weightloss plan. It involves either swallowing clay tablets or mixing powdered clay with juice. The rationale being that the clay swells to 12 times its original volume in the stomach, and therefore curbing hunger pangs.

    Nutritionist Elsa Jones (pictured above) spoke to John about crazy food habits.
