    Mornings with Dave Fanning Search for Ireland’s Most Musical Family

    Brothers, sisters, cousins, in-laws, step fathers, grannies – the show is looking for families that play together to enter the competition. Non family members are permitted – as long as family is at the heart of it – as with The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and The Fureys and Davey Arthur.

    Send us a 4’00 maximum clip performing the song or music of your choice – it does not need to be an original piece of music.

    Upload it to Youtube and email us the link to davefanning@rte.ie.

    You also need to send us a 100 word supporting paragraph telling us your story and why you should be chosen.

    The closing date for entries is 5pm on Wednesday  26th August.

    Our final will be held the first week in September and finalists need to be available then to perform before our judges.

    The judges’ decision is final.

    Miriams next guest in studio is well known as one part of the very successful comedy trio, The Nualas. We've spoken to her a couple of times on this show as she has recently undergone treatment for breast cancer. Anne Gildea joins Miriam in studio this morning to talk about her book, titled 'I've got cancer, what's your excuse'.

    It’s business as usual again from September 6th, when the Nualas start an autumn tour of the country, beginning at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght on Friday, Sept 6 & then onto the Hawkswell in Sligo on Saturday, Sept 7.
