    Mornings with Dave Fanning Search for Ireland’s Most Musical Family

    Brothers, sisters, cousins, in-laws, step fathers, grannies – the show is looking for families that play together to enter the competition. Non family members are permitted – as long as family is at the heart of it – as with The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and The Fureys and Davey Arthur.

    Send us a 4’00 maximum clip performing the song or music of your choice – it does not need to be an original piece of music.

    Upload it to Youtube and email us the link to davefanning@rte.ie.

    You also need to send us a 100 word supporting paragraph telling us your story and why you should be chosen.

    The closing date for entries is 5pm on Wednesday  26th August.

    Our final will be held the first week in September and finalists need to be available then to perform before our judges.

    The judges’ decision is final.

    Irish Times columnist Michael Harding at 60!

    Miriam's first guest this morning wrot in the Irish Times "I wake this morning and inspect my face in the mirror & wonder, Will I have cake today? Or soda bread? Because it is my birthday. I am 60 & is remarkable that I have survived so many years & buried so many cats.” So reads Michael Harding’s piece in the Irish Times this week, Michael joins Miiam from a studio in Belfast.

    Miriam visits Patricia Ingle & her parents in Limerick

    Patricia Ingle, 22 year old this time two years ago who contracted a rare brain disease form parrots while woking in a pet store in Limerick. Patricia, from 2008, has been in locked in syndrome but has had an amazing recovery, Miriam spoke to Patricia & her family at home in Limerick.
