Mornings With Dave Fanning

    Monday - Friday, 9 - 10am

Mornings with Dave Fanning Search for Ireland’s Most Musical Family

Brothers, sisters, cousins, in-laws, step fathers, grannies – the show is looking for families that play together to enter the competition. Non family members are permitted – as long as family is at the heart of it – as with The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and The Fureys and Davey Arthur.

Send us a 4’00 maximum clip performing the song or music of your choice – it does not need to be an original piece of music.

Upload it to Youtube and email us the link to davefanning@rte.ie.

You also need to send us a 100 word supporting paragraph telling us your story and why you should be chosen.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on Wednesday  26th August.

Our final will be held the first week in September and finalists need to be available then to perform before our judges.

    The judges’ decision is final.

The prize courtesy of Waltons music is a Kurzweil CUP-2 Upright Digital Piano. For more information visit  www.waltons.ie

    Taped Phonecalls

    Phobias

Last Wednesday we had an item on the show on phobias & there was such a huge reaction to that piece that we have invited back Moira Geary, personal growth mentor with two of our listeners on the line Olive Blackwell & Tracy McGuinness, to talk about their phobias.

    Listen

Father & Son - Willie Anderson & son Jonathan

Miriam's next guests are father & son, Willie Anderson, former Ireland Rugby Captain (who famously faced down the All Black Haka at Lansdowne Road in 1989) & son Jonathan, a fashion designer who won the Emerging Talent Award at the British Fashion Awards last year.
