    The John Murray Show and Saturday Night Show are jointly running a music competition - click here for full detailis.  Emerging musicians are invited to send in their music to the John Murray Show by email.The John Murray Show decides on a shortlist of the 20 best acts.A panel of experts will reduce the field from 20 to six.

    These six are all played (pre-recorded) on the John Murray Show in a semi-final on Friday, May 16, where the top three are decided by a panel on that show.

    The final three then play live in Studio 8 in the John Murray Show final on Thursday, May 29.The overall winner plays again on the Saturday Night Show on Saturday, May 31. Please ensure the soloist and/or band members are available for these key dates.

    Kerry filmmaker Gerard Barrett

    Pilgrim Hill was the 'buzz movie' of Galway Film Fleadh in 2012. Gerard Barrett's debut feature saw the Co. Kerry filmmaker walk away with the Bingham Ray New Talent Award & Gerard joins John in studio.

    Motor Neurone Disease Research

    John is joined in studio by Professor Orla Hardiman, a consultant neurologist, who has been leading the way into researching MND in Ireland. The last time John spoke to Orla was last year when she told us about a clinical trial that was underway. It has now been concluded & Prof Hardiman tells us of the findings.

    To help raise money for continued research for MND, the Management of Punchestown has offered a special day package to support this research work, which takes place on Saturday 27th April.

    It is the final day of Punchestown Irish National Festival with an 8 Race Programme - Admission from 12.00pm - Indvidual tickets are €80, Tables of 10 cost €800 - Half of the €80 euro ticket price will go to our MND Research Unit in Trinity College Dublin.
