Music & chat with Jenn Grant

In studio with John is Canadian singer songwriter Jenn Grant who has arrived in Ireland to start her European tour in Galway tonight.

Jenn's new album is called 'Compostela' & this morning will sing the song 'Bombshell' from this album.

Jenn Grant plays the Roisin Dubh tonight, DeBarras in Clonakilty tomorrow night, Levis in Ballydehob on Friday & Whelans on Saturday night.

Music with Duke Special

John's music guest this morning is a busy man, Duke Special has released his tenth album 'Look Out Machines!' & is currently on tour to promote it. Duke is in studio for a performance & chat.

Writing a Musical at age 22

Dubliner Lauryn Gaffney has written a musical at the young age of 22! The musical called 'Big Shot' has been accepted into a prestigious US Arts Festival & Lauryn joins John to tell us how how she first became interested in music.

Pianist JJ McNamara

In studio with John this morning is JJ McNamara, the 16 year old son of music producer Frank McNamara & RTE Presenter turn barrister, Theresa Lowe.  JJ is a multi-award winning piano prodigy & will perform in studio this morning.

JJ will be a soloist at the Dublin International Game Music Festival at the Convention Centre tomorrow (Friday) at 12.30pm

Singer songwriter - Sinead O'Connor

It's been a busy few months for Sinead O'Connor, from announcing she would no longer be singing "Nothing Compares 2U", news that she's an expectant grandmother & an application to join Sinn Fein to writing a new national anthem for Ireland & of course touring the chart-topping album "I'm Not Bossy, I'm the Boss".

Sinead joins Brendan in studio this morning.

Brendan's musical guests are a band that have refined their craft through busking city streets from Dublin to Los Angeles & the band's work has paid off, their debut album 'The Message' has reached double platinum sales status!

Their music has been compared to the hymnal quality of Fleet Foxes & the folk melodies of Simon & Garfunkel. Their debut album 'Rhythm of Dawn' is receiving rave reviews & brothers Jamie and Richie Martin, aka Cry Monster Cry, are in studio with Brendan for a chat & performance.
