    John's next musical guest this morning celebrates her recently acquired Irish citizenship with her new EP 'Apple' & she sings a song from it called 'Hello'.  Cathryn Green performs in studio this morning.


    Music & Chat - Nigel Connell

    John's next guest is a Co Meath drummer & singer Nigel Connell who has played support with some of the legendary names on the American music country scene & morel recently Nigel joined Daniel O'Donnells band as his drummer & backing vocalist on a world tour.

    His new CD will be called Washed in the River - to be released next year - 2015.

    Music played 'Washed in the River' with Athboy Gospel Choir with special guest Margot Daly & 'Down By the Mountain' with Nigel's band.


    Music 'De Temps Antan' from Quebec

    Early settlers in Canada developed their own distinct musical style & in contemporary music you can hear a unique mix of Traditional, Celtic, Jazz & Classical music. In studio this morning are De Temps Antan, Éric Beaudry, André Brunet & Pierre-Luc Dupuis, a Quebecois trio currently performing in Ireland.

    Music with Millie & the Illywhackers

    We're fast-approaching the most bewitching time of year & we thought we're give you an entrée of all-things-eerie with a little spooky music. Minnie and the Illywhackers will perform a Transylvanian-themed concert especially for children & families in The Ark in Dublin's Temple Bar on Bank Holiday Monday & they join John in studio this morning.

    Music with Wyvern Lingo

    "Lush harmonies" "striking melodic pop" & "perfect synchronicity" are some of the ways our next musical band have been described. So it is little surprise that they have racked up credits with big selling acts like Hozier & others. They are Karen Cowley, Saoirse Duane and Caoimhe Barry . Together they are Wyvern Lingo.

    Music with Luan Parle

    Live music today comes from a singer songwriter who recorded her first album in 1993 at the tender age of 12 following an appearance on the Late Late Toy Show & went on to become a household name & Meteor Award Winner. Luan Parle joins Oliver in studio this morning & sings her latest single 'When My Day is Done'.

    Music & chat with Red Molly

    Since forming around a campfire at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in New York in 2004, Red Molly have gone on to make six albums & have toured worldwide. The trio, Molly Venter, Laurie MacAlister & Abbie Gardner are currently on tour in Ireland & the UK before heading back stateside & they join John in studio this morning.

    Elaine Paige - The First Lady of British Musical Theatre

    Elaine Paige, the Olivier Award-winning British musical theatre star, who has appeared on New York stages in Sunset Boulevard, Sweeney Todd & Follies, kicks off her "farewell" concert tour in the U.K. today, October 9th. 

    The tour encompasses Elaine's monumental career, with songs from the world of musical theatre & this morning John speaks to Elaine Paige about her forthcoming tour.

    Joining John in studio this morning are a Donegal duo, Karen Sheridan & Colin Heron who go by the name of Slow Skies for a performance & chat.

    X Factor - Janet Grogan

    Irish artistes have featured large in this year's X-Factor. No fewer than five home-grown solo artistes making it through to the "Boot Camp".

    In studio with John this morning is one of those contestants, Janet Grogan who secured one of Simon’s 6 coveted seats to go through to the “Judges Houses”.   But this was when things started to go horribly wrong when -  in a cruel twist of fate and at the eleventh hour - she was swapped out in favour of a rival contestant.
