Stereophonics - Music & Chat

The Welsh band Stereophonics with the unmistakable voice of Kelly Jones have sold 9 million copies of their albums, had ten top-ten singles in the UK, opened for The Rolling Stones, The Who and David Bowie & will be playing in Ireland soon. Miriam is joined by Kelly & band mate Richard Jones from a studio in London.

Music & Chat with John Spillane

Cork singer songwriter John Spillane has left his native county to find inspiration for his new album, he has been travelling around the towns of Ireland for a new TG4 series & writing new material along the way. John is in studio with Miriam for a chat & performances.

Music & Chat with the Webb Sisters

Miriam's first guests are well known as 'the sublime' Webb Sisters who have been touring with Leonard Cohen since 2008. Sisters Hattie & Charley join Miriam in studio this morning, for a chat & performance.

Miriam's first guests this morning are two young men, one English the other Irish who are both singer/songwriters who met by pure chance one night on a train station in Chicago. Marty Smith & Joseph Francis were both broke but intent on making their way by rail to Memphis, Tennessee, the birthplace of rock n'roll. Co. Down musician Kieran Goss joins Miriam in studio this morning. Kieran has performed no fewer than one thousand live gigs in the last five years but barely a one in Ireland! He's back next month with his first Irish tour in years.

Singer Songwriter Jimmy MacCarthy

Miriams first guest this morning is arguably Ireland's greatest songwriter, responsible for many of the biggest hits of Christy Moore, Mary Black, Mary Coughlan, Westlife & the Corrs, to name but a few.  In studio with Miriam we have Jimmy MacCarthy for a chat & performance.

The Hit- Finbar Furey

After 26 years it looks like chart veteran & father of 5, Finbar Furey could once again reach the heady heights of the pop charts at the age of 67! It follows his appearance on the TV show The Hit & he is now involved in a musical battle with exWestlife singer Shane Filan, for the coveted number one spot. Finbar joins Miriam on the line this morning.

My Pod with Fr Brian D'Arcy

Kathryn's guest in studio is someone who started their career in journalism some 50 years ago, reviewing the pop records for 'The Dancing News' paper run by Albert Reynolds!   Fr. Brian D'Arcy selects some of his favourite music & takes us through his life, from his first day at secondary school to becoming a priest & a journalist.

Music Jerry Fish & Cathy Davy

In studio with Kathryn this morning we have two great musicians, Jerry Fish & Cathy Davy with a performance & chat.  Jerry is accompanied by guitarist Grum to perform 'Barefoot & Free' which is a new single & the very first of the new collaboration with R.S.A.G. (Rarely Seen Above the Ground) who features on drums.  Cathy joins Jerry Fish at the Electric Picnic & performs a Randy Newman's song, 'Simon Smith & his Amazing Dancing Bear' in studio this morning.
