    Sir James Galway & Lady Jeanne Galway

    My first guest is one of the world's favourite flautists. He has played for such dignitaries as Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul II, President Clinton & Princess Diana. He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide & has performed with Stevie Wonder, John Denver, Elton John, Ray Charles, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd & many others. On Saturday he is to receive the National Concert Hall Lifetime Achievement Award. Sir James Galway along with his wife Lady Jeanne joins Miriam in studio.

    Big Music Week Connolly Station

    This morning the programme is in Connolly Station to begin a week-long celebration of the best of Irish music, RTE in collaboration with the Irish Rail are taking you on the BIG MUSIC TRAIN across the country to capture the brilliant music being played & created.

    On our programme this morning we kick-start the music week with Kodaline & RTE Concert Orcestra, Paul Brady, Bugle Babes, Lisa O'Neill, Luka Bloom, Damien Dempsey & RTE CO with Train House Band, Bronagh Gallagher & the Artane Boys Band.

    Comedy Heroes & Music - Katherine Lynch

    Miriam's next guest has had several hit TV series & runs of sold out shows in some of the country's top comedy venues.  She is one of Ireland's all-time most successful comediennes, she is of course Katherine Lynch. While we primarily associate Katherine with comedy, she is a woman of many talents, as her music album 'Settling Dust' contains a lot of original material dealing with themes as diverse as loss, love, fathers & home. Katherine is in studio with Miriam to tell us about her comic heros &  album.

    In studio with Miriam this morning is a young singer songwriter from Wicklow, Andrew Hozier. In the last three years the excitement surrounding singer-songwriter Andrew Hozier Byrne has steadily grown. Andrew performs We Are Young & his own song 'Take Me To Church'. Also we have Chirs de Burgh joining us on the line who is a big fan of Andrews.

    Patrick Feeney - Country & Western Singer

    Miriam's first guest this morning is one of the big stars of the very vibrant country & western scene. At only 30 years of age, he has been forced to take a break due to worsening health, Patrick Feeney joins us in studio.

    Patrick will be appearing in RTE's Big Music Week Country Concert at The Landmark Hotel in Carrick on Shannon on October 3rd, along with Robert Mizzell & Louise Morrissey.

    Rory Gallagher Noir

    Joining Miriam on the line this morning are crime writer, Ian Rankin & Donal Gallagher, brother of Rory, to tell us about the very interesting project 'Kickback City' they have collaborated on.

    Kickback City is a CD, a live CD, Ian Rankin's novella, Graphics by Timothy Truman & an audio CD with a recording of Aidan Quinn reading the story.  It will be released in October.
