The Business with George Lee, Saturday 16th March 2013 - Where We're At?

St Patrick's Day is all about national pride and the image of Ireland both home and abroad. And there is no doubt this year that the reputation of Ireland is improving at a very fast rate. Look no further than what happened in the bond market earlier this week when more than 400 investors offered to lend huge sums of money to the Irish Government for a ten-year period. We're joined in studio by Brendan Keenan, Economics Editor at the Irish Independent; Paul Sommerville of Sommerville Advisory Markets, from London by Martin Essex, Managing Editor of Markets at Dow Jones, and also David Riley, Global Head of Sovereign Ratings for Fitch.

Millions are expected to take part in St Patrick's Day parades around the world tomorrow, and much has been said about the value of all the festivities to "Brand Ireland". Other countries, and indeed many big companies, have tried to replicate such emotional engagement by inventing a big national day of their own. Two branding experts, Dylan Cotter, Creative Director at Irish International and Judy O'Broin, head of copy at Havas Worldwide's Dublin office, examine the made-up holidays that have worked and those that haven't.
