The Business with George Lee, 9th February 2013- The Deal is Done

It was a week of drama of the highest order, as the Dáil worked late into the night to rush through emergency legislation to liquidise the Irish Banking Resolution Corporation, formerly known as Anglo Irish bank. The panic and chaos turned into applause and congratulations as Finance Minister Michael Noonan announced a new deal with the European Central Bank which would see the exchange of our promissory notes for long-term government bonds, saving the exchequer around €1 billion a year in debt repayments. But now that the deal has been done and the dust is beginning to settle, what does this mean for Ireland's recovery? We're joined by Donal Donovan, a former deputy director of the IMF, Paul Sweeney, Chief Economist of ICTU, and from London by Martin Sandbu, Economics Leader Writer at the Financial Times.
