Jeremy Irons and Lord David Puttnam

Jeremy Irons and Lord David Puttnam

On Friday Oscar winning Actor Jeremy Irons became an honorary Cork man and received his award from last year's inaugural recipient, Oscar-winning film producer, Lord David Puttnam - Miriam spoke to them both about their careers, their lives and about their shared love of their home county of Cork

Here is an iconic scene from the movie 'The Mission' on which David and Jeremy worked together - The scene features the famous score by Ennio Morricone

Jeremy's award as an honorary Corkman was for recognition of his work promoting the arts and charities over 20 years in West Cork and participating in many environmental campaigns and it was also in recognition of his work to restore the amazing Kilcoe Castle in which he lives

Here is the castle before renovation

And here it is afterwards
