Fresh from her IFTA win, Miriam’s guest this week is the talented writer, Emma Donoghue, author of novels, short stories, and of course the Oscar-nominated screenplay of her Booker-nominated novelRoom.
Emma is one of eight writers associated with UCD who have created a new 1916 play Signatories. Signatories is being staged at Kilmainham Gaol tonight [24th April]; and then at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th April; and then at then the Civic Theatre in Tallaght on 3rd and 4th May, and finally at the National Concert Hall on 5th May.
The play is a collaboration between UCD & Verdant Productions.

To accompany this production, UCD Press have published a book called Signatories, which features the story of the seven signatories, plus Nurse Elizabeth O’Farrell’s story, as well as an introduction by director Patrick Mason.
